Switzerland - Guarda Val Grisons

This Reward Trip was like a magnificent gift! Despite the current challenges we were able to meet as planned and spend some wonderful days together – an experience that will stay with us for a long time to come. This time we met in the beautiful Swiss Grisons, in a dreamlike and secluded mountain scenery, which quickly lets you forget the stresses of everyday life. The perfect place to breathe deeply, recharge and enjoy life!

DAY 1: WELCOME TO GUARDA VAL!

Many participants of the Reward Trip were overjoyed to finally see each other again as everyone arrived at the Guarda Val Hotel on Tuesday afternoon. Many enjoyed the first hours together in front of the fireplace, with coffee, cake and a spectacular view of the mountains. The Reward Trip was officially opened at 6pm with a speech by our Vice President - EMEA Rocky Smart, who also had a fantastic surprise in store: a live link to our CEO Stewart Hughes, who took the opportunity for a first training with the participants! He spoke about how to regard every situation as an opportunity to learn and to align your inner navigation system accordingly. After all, your mindset and personal approach determine what you make of a situation. A problem can be an obstacle or a chance to find a solution, which strengthens us and makes us ready to reach our personal goals.

After the reunion with Stewart Hughes our great Diamond executives Bettina Pape (Presidential Diamond), Stefan Anghern (Presidential Diamond), Markus Beier (Presidential Diamond) Alexander Krause (Double Diamond) & Daniel Müller (Double Diamond) took the floor. They talked about what they love about Unicity and encouraged the participants to note down daily what they appreciate about Unicity – an important exercise that helps to clarify our personal WHY.

After this emotional beginning we spent a wonderful evening enjoying the legendary Swiss cuisine in the hotel's own Crap Naros Restaurant!

DAY 2 – LESSONS FROM NATURE

A delicious breakfast against the sunny mountain backdrop – is there a more beautiful way to start the day? At some point, the mountains called too loudly and we set off on a hike together. At 1,800 metres above sea level, we hiked together on a high-level trail towards Scharmoin. Our enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced guides explained the mountains, spoke about the origins of this extraordinary landscape, and told us what lessons we could learn from nature. The day flew by, with deep conversations, many opportunities for fantastic photos and of course a delicious picnic!

With many photos, new insights and a bit of an autumnal tan we returned to our beautiful hotel and enjoyed the evening together.

DAY 3 – FUN AND TEAM SPIRIT IN WINTERWONDERLAND

The weather in Grisons surprised us with an exciting contrast: We woke up in a winter landscape! A little bit of snow fell during the night and turned Lenzerheide into a Winter Wonderland.

After breakfast, Presidential Diamond Bettina Pape gave a rousing talk in which she pointed out to the participants how the observations and teachings of the previous day could help them move forward. This openness and readiness to learn, the willingness to change one's own perspective, are crucial for development – both personally and professionally!

We then went for a walk in the woods to the restaurant La Riva for a delicious lunch. Refreshed and very curious we started our teambuilding activity – curling! What a great way to learn something new, be active and have fun together. Eight teams competed, gave their best, cheered each other on, helped each other and enjoyed spending time together – just like we work in our teams every day. TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!

DAY 4 – OUR GOAL: ONE IN A THOUSAND

On Friday morning we sat down together, full of energy and inspired, to develop plans and strategies for Unicity. Double Diamond Daniel Müller opened the day with the Unicity vision and our new goal for Europe. We love Unicity, our products, the income opportunities, the deep relationships and the friendships that have been created. We are committed to sharing all this with others. Step by step we can help others to:

• feel better
• live better
• look better

Make Life Better! Each of us can contribute to making the lives of others better – in our village, in our city. That is why we have announced the goal of ONE IN A THOUSAND. 

We invite you all to share Unicity with others by helping one in a thousand people to live better. Start with yourself, in your neighborhood, hometown, county/canton, country and then across Europe. The Reward Trip is the perfect starting point for this, because everyone has to start with themselves by taking the first step into a better life. Together as a team we will achieve great things if everyone contributes. One in a thousand and then on to the big Unicity goal of 10,000 Diamonds: Together we can help countless people to live a better life.

Afterwards, Unicity Sales and Marketing Director Europe Didier Schluchter spoke about the necessity of a clearly defined process for a concept to succeed – because that way we have achieved so much in the last 2 years!

After a well-deserved break, Double Diamond Alexander Krause then led our conversation about a book that changed his life, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. Engaging, entertaining and with many personal anecdotes Alexander guided us through the 7 principles:

1 - Be proactive.

2 - Begin with the end in mind.

3 - First things first.

4 - Think win-win.

5 - Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

6 - Synergize!

7 - Sharpen the Saw; Growth.

Finally, we were delighted to welcome a special guest: hotel owner Cornelia Gantner told us how she transformed the Guarda Val into a top hotel and one of the most prestigious addresses in Switzerland. Her recipe for success: Follow your heart and don't doubt what your heart tells you!

And then the crowning finale: On our last evening together, we celebrated everything we have achieved in the past years. One special highlight was of course the recognition of our two new directors Monika Raider and Tobias Schnell! After a photo shoot we celebrated together with a festive gala dinner at the Guarda Val Michelin-Star restaurant.

DAY 5 – SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!

We can’t believe our Reward Trip ended so fast! We are so happy and grateful that we were able to acknowledge the extraordinary achievements of our participants and set new goals together. We all have the chance to make life better. We want to invite you all to make plans and set new goals together with your great teams, so that you too can participate in the next Reward Trip! Qualification lasts until the end of April 2021.
